As we close out 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on the holiday season and the impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives our Midland team participated in. But first, what is CSR? CSR, or corporate social responsibility, is the idea that businesses are members of the community. As such, we have a responsibility to take an active role in sustainability, volunteering, and fostering positive community change.
This year, our holiday season was filled with meaningful opportunities to give back. At our year-end meeting, our team came together to pack 600 meal bags for local children facing food insecurity. These bags provide essential meals for children during winter break, offering crucial support to families in need. This initiative has quickly become one of our favorite holiday traditions, and we’re thrilled to continue making an impact.
For Giving Tuesday, the Midland team celebrated by volunteering at the annual Festival of Trees, a holiday event that raises funds to support children receiving care at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital. Our volunteers assembled and fluffed trees and set up the convention center for this heartwarming celebration.
No Midland holiday season would be complete without our Holiday Party Toy Drive. Thanks to our employees’ generosity, were able to collect numerous gifts and ensure that underprivileged children received toys, games, and a touch of holiday magic.
Finally, Midland donated more than sixty blankets to a local Buffalo homeless shelter, as well as an animal shelter, as staying warm is so important this time of year.
The holiday season is a time of joy, togetherness, and giving back. At Midland, we’re incredibly proud to have employees who consistently make the time and effort to support their communities. Here’s to another year of spreading cheer and making a difference!
